Let me explain:ġ) To say you believe that God provides for all your needs, and then ask friends to bail you out all the time, shows that you don't believe God provides.Ģ) To say you love everyone unconditionally and then look for ways to cause them trouble is evident that you haven't experienced God's unconditional love.ģ) To exact a small debt from a poor friend while you receive forgiveness on a larger debt you owe shows that you haven't learned a thing about forgiveness.Ĥ) To call someone only when you need their cash is not friendship. What is missing? Believing the Good News. Yet the outcome of her life indicates bad fruit, i.e., her behavior is rotten to the core! She doesn't know the difference between right and wrong actions. She thinks it is enough to say she believes.
Note: I have a friend who has heard the Good News, but doesn't believe it. Salvation work is not a competition between believers!Ī. He is mistaken! Celebrate God's ways, how He moves in mystery, exactly as we need to be blessed by others and to bless them too. Note 2: Sometimes one believer insists he is the only person God uses in a new believer's decision to choose Jesus. God keeps doing it throughout their lives, chasing them until they either give in or else rebel openly and reject Him. God uses a variety of believers in one person's life, to show Himself to that person who is not yet His. Note 1: I am always excited to see what God has done with people that I have prayed for in the past, folks I've worked with, folks I've run into in seeming coincidence, etc. John 4:35–38 = Rarely does the same believer work with a nonbeliever through to salvation. What is true about how God's Kingdom work is done?Ī. John 4:13–14 = We have a spring of living water inside us that takes away all thirst. 1) I refuse to hear God's Word, or else I hear it andĢ) I don't believe it speaks of who God isģ) I conclude that God's Word is just another truthĤ) I don't obey the Son understanding is not mineĪ. What is it that grants me eternal Hell?Ī. John 3:36 = Believe what Jesus has revealed, that all of the Word of God is true, that Jesus is the Messiah. John 3:32–34 = 1) You hear God's Word, which speaks of who God isĢ) Jesus teaches us through the Word what He has witnessed and heard of God's characterĪ. How does understanding of the Good News happen?Ī. Who appoints our work in the Kingdom of Heaven? They gladly come into the light so everyone can see that they are doing what God wants. Do believers practicing right living like God's light?Ī. John 3:20 = They fear light, being exposed and punished for their sins. John 3:19 = They love their sin more than the truth.Ī. John 3:10 = A respected Jewish teacher.Ī. John 3:6 = The Holy Spirit gives us new life from Heaven.Ī. John 3:5 = Born by water and the Holy Spirit.Ī. Being born again is the only step to becoming a child of God.Ī. Is it enough to know God sent Jesus to teach us about Him, to see miracles as proof of His Messiahship?Ī. Jesus knows who is committed for the long haul we know as a life of yielding to Him and of service to mankind. But human nature is self–seeking and we tend to befriend people who can personally benefit us. Note: We give people the benefit of the doubt. He is the only One who is able to be true. Do people believe the Good News after witnessing miracles?Ī. John 2:11 = After Jesus turned water into wine at the wedding in Cana. At what point did the disciples believe Jesus was Messiah?Ī.
Did Jesus' mother know that He was to do miracles? Who doubted Jesus because of his home town? John 1:45 = Philip, who was Nathaniel's friend, told him about Jesus. Where were Andrew, Peter and Philip from?Ī.
John 1:43 = When Jesus went to Galilee, he found Philip and asked him to follow Him. John 1:42 = Jesus changed Simon's name upon meeting him.Ī. When did Simon's name get changed to Cephas (i.e., Peter)?Ī. John 1:42 =From Andrew, who was his own brother. John 1:37, 40 = He was previously one of John the Baptist's followers. John 1:29 = The Lamb of God, who took away the sins of the world.Ī. That is how Jesus could tell us about God.Ī. John 1:15 = John the Baptist heralded Him.Ī. John 1:14 = Unfailing love and faithfulness.Ī. So when believers talk about being born again, they are claiming that God gave them new birth?Ī. Note: The most depressed person, the most heinous criminal, is not so far gone that light cannot reach him. What effect does darkness have on light?Ī. John 1:3 = Jesus made every detail of creation.
What about all the details of creation? Who made them?Ī. John 1:1 = He was with God and He was God. What was Jesus doing before He became man?Ī. What was first, the creation or the Word?
